The task for Day 5 in the 31 Days of Food Photography Tips was to do the compositional dance. Quite honestly, and I think anyone with a digital camera will probably relate to this, I’ve done way too much of the compositional dance in my time with the camera. Family members are known to walk by and say, “Are you still taking pictures of the same thing? Are you all right?” As in, do I need to be committed to a mental institution? So, I’ve been making a concerted effort (not that anyone can truly tell) to do less of The Dance.
However, I did enjoy revisiting the Compositional Dance, this time with a determination to play with depth of focus while I was at it. At the end of the series, if I were to choose one shot from my Cherry Dance, I’d probably go with the one captioned, “Leap to the front.”
